Trip to Sandersville

Well Jake officially has his first cold. He has a runny nose and a cough but it sure hasn't slowed him down! He is crawling all over the place. Thursday I walked into the nursery to find Jake standing in his crib. I guess pretty soon he will be running all over the house.

We went to the doctor on Friday for his 9 month (can you believe that?) check up. He weighed in a 21 pounds 12 ounces and is 28.5 inches tall. So he gets plenty to eat.

This weekend Brian's good friend from high school, Hill, got married and we traveled to Sandersville for the wedding. Jake got to spend lots of time with Nana, Aunt Anna and Aunt Car-Car. I know he got lots of attention this weekend and we got great pictures with everyone. A special thanks to them because Brian and I had 2 parties and the wedding to attend during the weekend and they were great babysitters.

This week we have our last swimming lesson for a while and Brian is going to come and see his little guy swim. After that we are off to Cincinnati for Thanksgiving and another wedding. So I am sure there will be more pictures next week.

Have and wonderful and safe holiday!

Jake's 1st Football Game

Hello and War Eagle!

We had such a fun week. First of all we were very good citizens and went to vote. They gave Jake a little sticker too. The best part was there wasn't a line! I had all kinds of food and toys packed for a long wait and we walked right in. Friday Jamie brought Payton over and we had a little playdate. So much fun to catch up with her and let the kiddies play.

Saturday we took off for Auburn. We had such a great time. I was a little worried about taking an 8 month old to a football game but I should have known Jake would love it. He did take a power nap the first quarter but after that he was ready to go. He laughed and clapped and had the best time. He definitely put on a show. All the people around us would giggle when he "talked." We had such a good time and I am so glad Jake got to see Auburn.

Jake is definitely animated these days. He loves to babble. He has mastered the crawl and now he is trying to stand up. He is pulling himself up to the coffee table. Pretty soon he will be walking and life as we know it will definitely change. I am sure he will be everywhere.

Happy Halloween!

It was Jake's first Halloween and we had so much fun! Jake was a little lion. He was so cute. On Friday Brian came home early and we each carved a pumpkin. Jake sat in his highchair and supervized. I haven't carved a pumpkin in years so it was a lot of fun to start a new tradition with Jake. After we finished carving Jake got all dressed up in his lion outfit for pictures. Of course I took a ton of pictures. Jake was not into Halloween. He didn't cry but he wasnt laughing either. There are just a few pictures of him grinning but that was pretty much it.

Saturday we went to Hilary and Elliott's to watch football (another sad day for Auburn fans). Jake's little friends all dressed up for pictures. We had Brendan the firefighter, Matty the cuddly lion and Davis the monkey. Again Jake didn't smile...but didn't cry so at least that was something. Regardless the pictures are cute. We had such a fun day. When we finally left we got Jake home and in bed and he slept like a log until 7 am and then it was time to play again! Where do they get this energy?

In the past two weeks Jake has really been working on his crawling and clapping. He usually crawls forward 2 or 3 steps then sits down and claps for himself. Every time I see it I just chuckle. He is so pleased with himself. I love the clapping, his whole face just lights up and he laughs and laughs. It's so fun. I guess he is officially crawling. We picked him up from the church nursery today and the lady said he should probably move up to the crawlers class. She said she looked up and he was on the other side of the room. Oh, the little guy is growing up! He is even trying with all his might to pull himself up (and there is quite a lot to pull). He gets his hands on the couch and tries and tries but hasn't made it yet.

I think this weekend we are going to introduce Jake to Auburn football. It's Homecoming and as long as the weather is nice we will be off to Auburn. Have a great week!
