School's Out!

Today was the last day of school. I am sad but happy at the same time. I know Jake and Julianna had such fun at school this year. But I will be glad for the break and chance to do fun things.

I went to Jake's end of the year party on Wednesday. Of course forgot my camera and took a few pictures on my phone but they are terrible. Oh well, I remembered all three kids! Anyway, Jake just finished his second year of preschool. He was in the Chimp class with Ms. Susan and Ms. Debbie. They were just wonderful teachers that made Jake's year fantastic! He was always excited to go to school and he has made lots of friends.

I think one of my proudest moments as a mom was Wednesday. The teachers were talking about each child and what they thought they might be when they grew up. Now sometimes the teacher said race car drive because they loved cars or a doctor because they loved the medical kit. Jake, they said, he would be a team leader. Because everyone loves playing with him and he is always kind and includes others. If someone is crying he will bring them a toy to make them feel better. Truly warms my heart to hear such wonderful things about Jake!

On to Julianna.  She is something.  She can find trouble in a heartbeat.  To give you an idea of what I am in for this summer. Yesterday at 9:30am the following had already happened.

1. I found her in the kitchen on top of the kitchen counter trying to get to the M&M's (I figured out later she accomplished this feat by climbing up the drawer pulls on the desk drawers)
2. Got her hair caught in a small hand fan that blows bubbles.
3. Snuck into Grace's room to cover her up with a blanket, of course waking her up since she put the blanket over Grace's little head.
4. Somehow got the washing machine door unlocked, open and pulled out the sopping wet clothes until she found her beloved "lovie" and then put the drenched lovie in the dryer with the dry laundry.

She is very sweet when she gets caught doing all of these things. She definitely keeps life interesting for us.  Anyway, she finished her last year of Parent's Morning Out and will move on to what she calls "Big Girl School." She will be a bunny next year and she can't wait to be at Jake's school.

So I guess I am looking forward to a summer filled with fun and mischief.  Jake always wants to know what we are doing next. Every night he asks what are we going to do tomorrow. I was not surprised when he started asking what we were going to do on our summer vacation. I said "Well I signed you guys up for some camps, we are going visit Grandma and Poppy in Ohio, going to the beach with Nana and Papa. We will probably visit the pool and the zoo and the Aquarium." Jake's reponse "That sure will be a fun day, what else are we going to do?" I think his daily expectations might be a little high.

Jake's T-Ball Party

Jake's first t-ball season has come to an end. By the last game you could really tell he was getting the hang of it. I think he really likes baseball. He had a great final game. 2 balls came his way and he picked them right up and threw the ball the first. He had a great coach who was so patience and upbeat. He kept the boys interested and taught them so much.

After the game they had a pizza party and trophy presentation. Jake was so proud to get his trophy, he said "I can't wait to show Dadddy he will love it!" Brian was out of town and I know sad to miss his final game.

Grace is 8 weeks old today!

So I realized Grace is 8 weeks old today and I ought to post a few pictures. She started smiling a week or two ago. She just grins at you for no reason, its so sweet. Julianna loves to try to get her to smile. Doesn't work very often since she is usually pulling her hand or foot and yelling "SMILE!"

Grace has definitely gotten more into a routine. Thankfully she has started sleeping like a champ! I put her down around 7pm and she only gets up once (for about 15 minutes) until 7am. So great to be getting more than 3 hours of sleep at a time. Hopefully in the next couple weeks she will drop that middle of the night feeding and just sleep 12 hours!

Grace is 1 Month Old

Grace had her one month check up today (yes technically she is 5 weeks but who's counting). She is following in the footsteps of both her brother and sister. Just like Julianna she is off the charts for height and like Jake, in the 95th percentile for weight...do we remember Jake and all his chunky cuteness? The doctor said she looks great!

We have started getting into a routine these days. She likes her bouncy seat and loves to lie on her play matte...that is until Julianna sees she is on the floor. Julianna LOVES her sister...maybe too much! Julianna has no concept of gentle so I spend most of my time keeping her away from Grace. But Grace gets lots of kisses!

I picked Julianna up from school today and she hopped in the car and said "Mommy, I go to school, I miss my Gace." Of course I said "Julianna that is sweet, did you miss me?" "No." Sigh.

Aunt Lyndsay Comes to Visit

Aunt Lyndsay came to visit last weekend. The kids had a BLAST! She came on Thursday so that meant she got to ride along and drop Jake and Julianna off at school. I don't know why this is a big deal but it is! I guess Jake talked about her non-stop at school. His teacher brought out a picture he made especially for her.

Saturday we went to a festival and mostly just ate food. They had bouncy slides so Jake and Julianna loved it. We tried another festival on Sunday but it was way too crowded so we left. Jake entertained Lyndsay in the afternoons. They played in the basement. Not sure what they did but probably lots of puzzles.

The kids love to have people visit. After she left they kept asking when she was coming back. She probably needed a day off to rest once she got home. Funny people leave our house exhausted...wonder why?
