Beach Trip

Last week was our annual beach vacation. We went to Amelia Island with the Brownings. Two 3 year olds and a 16 month old doesn't really make for a relaxing vacation. But we had tons of fun watching our little ones run on the beach and jump the waves.

We did all kinds of fun things. We took a ferry boat to a seafood restaurant. The boys loved the big boat. Leslie and I took the kids to play Putt Putt. I thought they would just hit the ball around but Jake kept asking me if his hands were right. Geez. We had to go back the next day with the Daddies for a little more instruction.

Leslie was creative and made a fun sand pail dessert. It was sooo good and the boys loved "helping" make it. Julianna just loved eating it.

Most days we just played on the beach. Julianna didn't really like it at first but the water warmed up and by the end of the week she was fearless. She and Jake would just run for the water.

The last night each family had a photo shoot. I took the Browning's pictures and they were great! I was so excited to take our family shot. Wow, two kids is WAY more difficult to photograph! Oh well who cares about a perfect picture...it was a great vacation!

Moving On

I haven't really posted anything on the blog about our living arrangements the last few months. In January we decided it was time to sell our home in Mableton. To our shock (and I will say, with two kids my extreme relief) our house sold in 5 weeks.

The new owners were very nice and gave us a 7 week closing. You would think that would be plenty of time to find a house. Not so much. Just 2 weeks before our closing we gave up and went apartment hunting. We packed up all of our stuff, sent it to a POD and 2 storage units, and the rest went to the apartment.

On April 16th we said goodbye to our first house. I am not going to lie there were tears. So many wonderful memories were made in that house. It was a good 7 1/2 years.

One beautiful Saturday morning in May a house came on the market. Brian was taking Jake downtown and I was going to see a house with Julianna. I walked in and that was pretty much it. By 11 o'clock that night it was under contract! Soon to be ours!

July 3rd we spent our first night in our new house. Surrounded by boxes but with 2 beds and a crib fully assembled. It was glorious! Of course, 6 days later we left for the beach. What a feeling sitting on the beach knowing after my fun in the sun I was going home.

Toot Toot

I am going to go ahead and toot my own horn. I started making Julianna clothes a couple months ago. I have had such a good time picking out fabric and seeing her in the oufits I have made. I just finished what I think is my cutest outfit to date.

She obviously didn't mind modeling for the camera.

Cincinnati

On Monday we got home from our week long adventure to Cincinnati. It's taken me this long to get it together and write a post. I am sure Grandma and Poppy are waiting anxiously for the pictures.

We had such a great time. Although, I will say I was hoping to get a reprieve from the 95 degree weather but wouldn't you know a heat wave struck and it was 95 degrees there! Ugh, I can't get away from it! The last two days were pleasantly cool so I won't complain too much.

Jake and Julianna basically had their run of the house and had a grand time. Poppy blew up a pool and they cooled off every afternoon. We went out to lunch, went to the zoo, saw butterflies and did lots of shopping. Aunt Lyndsay even took over bath duties...which was fantastic!

When it was time to leave Jake asked me if Grandma and Poppy could come home with us. Hopefully they will come to see us soon...it will definitely be another year before I want to make that drive again with two crazy kids! In the middle of the drive Jake looked up and said "Mommy, I had such a great time at Grandma and Poppy's house." Makes it all worth it! Thanks Grandma and Poppy for such a great time!

Julianna Dancing

My mom bought a little toy piano to keep at her house and it played Disney songs. Julianna would push a button and dance. She was cracking us up with her arm flapping so I took a little video.
