Hi!
Last weekend it snowed again in Atlanta. Jake and I waited all day and finally at about 3:00 it started and went on for hours. We ended up with almost 4 inches of snow...which is unheard of around here! When Jake woke up from his nap I went into get him and he was lying on his bed staring out the window. I walked in and he said "snow Mommy."
So we got bundled up and went outside to play. It lasted a few minutes but when Daddy got home that was when the fun started. Jake loved to be hit with snowballs. He just laughed and laughed. It was wonderful. Brian tried to get him to make snow angels but Jake was not into it!
It was so nice to see snow again! It was a beautiful winter wonderland!

Jake's 2nd Birthday Party
This weekend we celebrated Jake's 2nd birthday. I know his actual birthday isn't until the 23rd but we decided to have the party a little early since I am due March 1st. Anna and Joe brought John Payne on Thursday so the cousins got to play together for 2 whole days. Our house sure was wild but we had such a good time. They wore each other out which was great!
My parents flew in on Saturday and it was time to party. Lots of people came over and there were kids everywhere. Balls were flying, kids were running around. Needless to say Jake had a ball. He loves to have friends over to entertain.
Grandma and Poppy stayed until Monday so we all watched the Superbowl together Sunday night. Jake was definitely more interested in his puzzles. He was constantly bringing them to Grandma to help put together. It was a great weekend and Brian and I are so blessed to have Jake. Thank you to everyone who came and helped celebrate our baby's 2nd birthday. I can't believe he is going to be two. How did that happen?

Random Pictures and a Little Snow
I hope you are all staying warm this winter. After Christmas, Brian and I decided to buy a new camera with all the bells and whistles. Although I haven't quite figured out all those bells and whistles I have been taking lots of pictures of Jake. He just ignores me so there aren't so many of him actually looking at the camera.
New Years Eve some of Jake's friend came over with their parents. We had a great time with the Fingers and the Brownings. I think the boys had a ball playing with all of Jake's new toys. He loves to have his friends over for playdates.
The latest big news is that he has moved into his big boy room. We were so nervous about having lots of sleepless nights but the transition has been seamless. He LOVES his new room and his bed. I don't think he misses his crib one bit, which is good because pretty soon (in about 6 weeks) that crib will have his baby sister in it.
Last week we had some snow and I thought I should at least let him run around in it. He was not very impressed. He basically walked around the house and went back inside. Too cold for him I guess. But there are a few pictures.
Have a great week!

Christmas Morning
Merry Christmas!
We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Santa brought you everything you wanted. Jake got quite a haul! It was almost embarrassing how many presents we had under the tree. But he is just so much fun to buy for!
Jake woke us up at the usual 7 am. And went downstairs. Santa brought him a work bench and he said "WOW!" It was a hit. He loves playing with all the tools. He kind of got into unwrapping presents but was much more excited about playing with everything.
Since it was just the three of us we cooked a small turkey and had a nice family dinner. Then it was back to playing with all Jake's new toys.
Hope you all have a wonderful New Year! Be safe!

Early Christmas
Merry Christmas!
This past weekend we drove to Sandrsville to celebrate Christmas with Brian's family. We hadn't been there since May and since I won't be traveling anymore we needed to go see Jake's great grandparents. It was great fun. Jake had a wonderful time with his cousin John Payne. They ran around outside and had such fun with all Jake's new toys. He was sad to leave but he fell fast asleep before we even got out of their neighborhood.
On Monday Jake and I went to Brian's office for their annual Christmas luncheon. Jake ran up and down the halls and left little finger and nose prints on all the office windows. He loved chasing after Campbell, Cooper and Noah. He loved exploring and trying to find places to hide. He was so cute trying to work on a computer and talk on the phone. Can't wait until next year.
We are staying in Atlanta for Christmas. I can't wait for Jake to tear into all of his presents. I have had such fun buying stuff for him this year. Next year should definitely be interesting with two kids to buy for!
We hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday!
