Jake's Pictures from School
Jake's school has a website and the teachers put pictures up occasionally for us to see. I copy the ones Jake is in. So I put the first half of the year up on my website so you can see what he has been doing at school. Enjoy!

National Champions!
WAR EAGLE!

I can't say thank you enough to my parents who watched Jake and Julianna so Brian and I could fly to Arizona to experience the National Championship game. It was unbelieveable. We had an amazing time.

Our seats were in the Auburn end zone and it was awesome to see them kick the game winning field goal right in front of us. It was a once in a limetime opportunity and I am so thankful we were able to go!

The Wedding
I have a new sister! My brother married Shana last Saturday in Pittsburgh (yes it was COLD!) We were there for 4 days and had such a great time. Sorry but there are tons of pictures to go through (I went a little nuts with the camera).

Friday night was the rehearsal dinner. It was at a restaurant not far from the hotel. Lots of friends and family were there and it was great to get a chance to chat with everyone before the big day! My dad gave a great speech and gave Shana all the gear she needs to root for all of her new family's teams (Kent State, Colordao State and Purdue). She was not allowed to have any Auburn gear since she roots for the other Alabama school.

Saturday was the wedding day and it was wonderful. Jake and Julianna looked very cute in their outfits. All day I stressed about Jake and Julianna (they were the flower girl and ring bearer). I shouldn't have worried. Jake and two other little boys pulled Julianna down the aisle in her wagon. She loved every ounce of the attention. Jake got to the front and came over to me. He grabbed my flowers took off for my mom and yelled "Grandma I brought you flowers." It was very cute until he said "I want to go home." What can you do?

But we had lots of fun and it was wonderful to see all the family and friends we rarely get to see.

It's a New Year!
Happy New Year! We have had a very eventful year so far! We kicked off the new year with our friends the Fingers. Ok so we didn't exactly make it to midnight but close enough. Jake had a great time running around with Brendan and Colin. Leslie brought cupcakes and bought the boys hats and finger lights. Obviously the boys were thrilled!

New Years day Brian spent the day cooking his annual meal. Country fried steak, collard greens and black eyed peas. It's not my favorite thing but he tried to include Julianna but she promptly spit the peas out. Evidently black eyed peas are not for her either.

It was a great start to the year and a nice relaxing weekend.

Christmas 2010
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas this year. Santa went a little overboard at our house! But what can I say? It's so fun to buy for little ones! It was after all Julianna's first Christmas.

Christmas Eve we went to church and barely made it through the 30 minutes service! Good thing it was VERY kid friendly. Julianna likes to sing along and she is loud! Jake, well, he can't sit still for that long so we had a screamer and a squirmer. Kind of funny looking back...not so much sitting in church. But at least they looked good in their Christmas attire.

Christmas morning Julianna blessed us by sleeping in until 8:00! Jake, of course was up with the sun but had to quietly watch TV upstairs until Julianna woke up. Finally it was time to open presents and Jake was overwhelmed. He got a Woody action figure and after that wasn't very interested. Until he got Buzz Lightyear. Obviously he is very into Toy Story.

Julianna didn't really get what was going on. She got a bunch of new toys, I tried to buy "girlie" things so she doesn't have to play with Jake's truck and ball. My parents gave Jake a new basketball hoop. Of course, Julianna LOVES the basketball. It's funny the things that entertain her. Here is a short clip of Jake playing basketball.
Brian asked Jake what his very favorite present was...he replied "MY TOYS." What an amazing day we had! Jake and Julianna have blessed our lives and made the holiday season truly special. Please have a safe and happy new year!
